Now that the pro football season is all but over, you can look for changes for the Washington Redskins. In keeping with the movement to not offend anyone, I expect management will drop “Washington” from the team name. Even Obama is encouraging a change. Of course, he could just mandate it.

It didn’t make it in all the newscasts, but I did read that Obama ordered virtual waiting rooms at the websites where Obamacare was being introduced. You know, for crowd control.

Seems to me every chef-created meal shown on television emphasizes unappealing edible ingredients that offset other unappealing stuff that are thrown in for color not taste.

Advertisers of silver and gold should pay more attention to the daily news when promoting sales by promising: “They are guaranteed by the government.” Not very reassuring these days.

? When two is company three is often the result.
? What’s the difference between government bonds and men? Bonds mature.
? Can vegetarians eat animal crackers?

I have fought using my computer for anything beside a typewriter for years. To me, computers are time consuming gadgets. Dictionaries and encyclopedias give me all the knowledge I need.
Having successfully avoided putting extra strain on my aging and diminishing brain cells, I can turn my attention to programming my tv.
However, I have learned to use a computer through my telephone. I call my friend Mickey.
A recent call was to ask him what a generation is. His printed-out answer came in five pages of small print.
However, there was a short and long answer. Before I met Mickey’s computer that would have sufficed.
“Short answer: 25 years, but a generation ago it was 20 years.”
The long answer is what I’d expect from one of my Michigan State or Western Michigan professors.
They’d say, “it all depends on what you mean by generation.”
In U.S. based Western culture, there is a Biological Generation, the Dynamic Generation, Familial Generation, Cultural Generation (which should really be called a Societal Generation) and then there is the Designation Generation and finally the Historical-Long Generation
Then each Generation is described fully in Mickey’s hand-out.
Have I convinced you yet to order a computer on-line or use Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Tumblr.

Oh, the irony of it all!
This year the food stamp program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to have distributed the greatest amount of free meals and food stamps ever. Over 47 million people received the help as of the most recent figures available in 2013.
Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U. S. Department of the Interior, asks us “Please do not feed the animals.”
Their stated reason for the policy is because, “The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.”
If people are animals, isn’t the natural instinct the same?
