Patricia (Pat) Marie Ball passed away peacefully at her home in Lake Orion, Michigan on May 10, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family.
Pat had been married to her husband Kelly for 58 years. She was born Aug. 9, 1941 in Gary, Indiana to Hugo and Willabelle Wilson, the oldest of their three daughters.
Pat and Kelly both grew up in Gary, Indiana with their fathers working for US Steel. After graduating from Lew Wallace High School, Pat went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from her beloved Butler University. After graduating from college, she began a teaching career which spanned over 30 years enriching the lives of countless high school aged kids.
Pat enjoyed life to the fullest whether it was travelling (she was fortunate to visit over 40 different countries during her numerous adventures with Kelly), playing golf, or going for a boat ride after dinner with friends and family.
She also cherished time with her children and grandchildren whenever and wherever she could get it. Nothing brought Pat more joy than her family.
Pat was preceded in death by her mother Willabelle and her father Hugo. She is survived by her husband Kelly; her sisters Sue Brown, and Norma (Ray) Riley; her children Kendy Ball Kutchek and Michael (Kim) Ball; her five grandchildren Jessica Ball, Kyle Kutchek, Joshua Ball, Jacob Ball; and Cooper Plehn as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking everyone to consider donating blood which was crucial to Pat’s care over the last two years, and/or making a contribution to the Red Cross or American Cancer Society.
