It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Lake Orion High School’s varsity boys track team who took on the Oxford High School Wildcats on April 6 and the Clarkston High School Wolves on April 13, dominating both teams.
In their matchup against Oxford, the boys team came away with their first OAA Red victory, scoring 83 points to Oxford’s 45 on a wet, cold day.
Senior Stephen Brown had a good day despite the weather, winning both the 100m and 200m dashes, and anchoring both the winning 400m and 200m relays, along with Raymond Payne, Ben Bojanowski and Joey Thede.
Thede won the 110m high hurdles and was 2nd to Brown in the 200m dash. Senior Clayton Kuiper won the 1600m run and anchored the winning 3200m relay, along with Jacob Corless, Hong Bing Tang and Luke Peardon.
Peardon also won the 800m dash, and Corless won the 400m dash.
Senior Adam Hafeli was 2nd in the 1600m run and then won the 3200m run, with Hong Bing taking 2nd.
And lastly, Senior Josh Trudell took 1st in the 300m hurdles.
April 13, the boys hosted Clarkston High School, defeating the Wolves 78-50.
Joey Thede won the 110m high hurdles, then teamed up with Payne, Dorian Hill and Brown on the winning 800m relay, and the 400m relay.
Brown was a double winner, (100m and 200m dashes), besides both relays.
Peardon and Kuiper, Corless and Hafeli, were on the 3200m relay, with Hafeli coming back to win the 3200m run.
Corless joined Kuiper on the winning 1600m relay, along with Thede and Peardon.
