Airb&b has benefited my family

My family and some friends have used Airb&b for many years with pleasant and memorable results. It’s unfortunate that George and Dee Lukas (“Residents want Airbnb’s banned in Lake Orion,” Lake Orion Review, Feb. 12, 2020, ‘View points, page 6) live near a home that’s apparently registered with Airb&b but not occupied by the owner. This is very unusual because Airb&b basically makes available a guest room(s) in an owner-occupied home.

My cousin Mary Vazis and her husband Dean toured Europe last year staying exclusively in homes registered with Airbnb. Mary and Dean met and enjoyed staying with family’s in a number of countries. They ended their European tour in Belgium. When the transportation they needed to go to the airport failed to arrive the Airbnb home owner they were staying with drove them to the airport and refused any compensation for driving them there.

When making a reservation with Airbnb to stay in a home in the United States or overseas you should confirm that you will staying in an owner/occupied home. You can also view the homes interior online to make sure it’s an acceptable place for you to stay.

Members of my family are registered with Airbnb offering rooms in their homes for overnight or short-term stays. The income from these rentals is welcome extra income.
