David Frederick Hodges of Lake Orion; passed away on January 16, 2024, with his loving wife, daughters, sister, and niece by his side. He was 73 years old.
David is survived by his wife, Linda (Hinman) Hodges; daughters, Christine (Hodges) Stanley, and her husband, Mark Stanley; Andrea (Hodges) Crowley and her husband, Stacy Crowley; his grandchildren Allison Rose Stanley, Abigail Elizabeth Crowley, Joseph Daniel Stanley and Benjamin Thomas Crowley; sister, Nancy (Hodges) England; and brother, Jeffrey Hodges.
David was preceded in death by his father Jack R. Hodges; mother, Marjorie Hodges; and brother, Jack Hodges Jr.
David spent all of his 73 years in Lake Orion where he was very well known and loved by the community.
He graduated from Lake Orion High School in 1969 and married his wife Linda in 1972. They had two daughters, who they raised in Lake Orion. He lived on Lake Orion for 46 years in a home that he was so proud of. He once had a Garden Nursery in Lake Orion. He loved Lake Orion and always wanted the best for his town. Anytime he went somewhere he almost always saw someone he knew.
Family was everything to David. He was the most caring and loving person. He enjoyed building, landscaping and spending time with family. His pride and joy was his home. He and his wife, Linda gave all they had to make it special.
His favorite holiday was the Fourth of July. For 46 years, they had parties every year and the prime spot for the annual fireworks display. He loved his country and enjoyed celebrating it. David was the proud owner of the boat, Crackpot, an iconic symbol on Lake Orion.
David will be missed by so many. He was a pillar in Lake Orion. Lake Orion just lost a wonderful man who touched so many. He is now in Heaven watching down on those who loved him.
A funeral service will be held at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home in Lake Orion on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forgotten Harvest.
