Bad form on local golf course
Authorities are searching for a suspect who drove their vehicle over parts of a local golf course sometime overnight prior to Nov. 21.
An Orion Township resident arrived at Indianwood Golf Course, 1081 Indianwood Rd., on the morning of Nov. 21 and noticed that an unknown vehicle had intentionally driven onto the driving ranges, damaging the lawn.
It appeared that the unknown suspects deliberately drove several times over the driving range before leaving.

‘Microsoft rep’ tries to scam Orion Twp. man after his computer ‘froze’
An Orion Township man went into the Orion Township substation at 1:43 p.m. Nov. 21 to report that while he was working on his computer it “froze.”
A short time later he was contacted by a man stating he was from Microsoft, and that he could help. The rep said he needed the resident’s banking information to secure his account, which the resident agreed to provide.
The resident said he was advised there was a pending charge on his account and that they needed to transfer all the money to Bitcoin to prevent the charge from going through. The victim realized he had been the victim of a fraud.
All information was turned over to detectives to continue the investigation.

Arrest warrant issued for man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend during argument
Authorities are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend on Nov. 23, pushing her head into a freezer and hitting her multiple times during the attack, a sheriff’s office incident report stated.
Deputies were dispatched to a home on the 3 block of Starling Hill Drive after a 29-year-old Orion Township woman called to report the domestic assault.
The woman and her 28-year-old boyfriend were in a verbal argument when he pushed the victim’s head into a freezer and punched her in the face three times. The boyfriend fled the area prior to deputies’ arrival.
Deputies gathered statements and charges were sent to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office authorized a complaint for Domestic Violence. A warrant was issued for the suspect’s arrest.

Orion Twp. woman becomes victim of online ID theft
An Orion Township woman was the victim of identity theft after someone opened a credit card account at Best Buy in her name.
The woman went into the Orion Township substation just before 4 p.m. Nov. 25 to report that she received an email notifying her of her new credit card from Best Buy, and that the credit card was used to make a purchase.
She immediately contacted Best Buy and stopped the order, informing them of the fraud.
She was informed that the account was opened online using her personal information.
The woman did not authorize anyone to use her personal information and closed the account. Detectives will continue the investigation.
Flint woman arrested after drinking and driving and crashing her vehicle
A Flint woman, 28, was arrested for drinking and driving after a traffic accident around 8:54 p.m. Nov. 25, a sheriff’s office report stated.
Deputies were sent to the area of Joslyn and Clarkston roads after getting a call that a vehicle was trying to flee the scene and that the vehicle crashed into a bridge around Clarkston Road and Pine Tree Road.
Deputies located the suspect, administered field sobriety tests and a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT), which yielded a result of .146 Blood Alcohol Content (BAC).
The driver was taken to a local hospital for a blood draw, then taken to the Oakland County Jail and safely released in the morning. Criminal charges are pending the lab results.

Man with alcohol content four times the legal limit arrested
While on patrol in the area of Lapeer and Brown roads at 12:21 a.m. Nov. 27, deputies saw a vehicle traveling southbound on Lapeer Road with defective equipment and made a traffic stop.
The driver, a 31-year-old Pontiac man, provided the deputies with a Michigan identification and said he did not have a driver’s license. Deputies requested the driver exit the vehicle and determined that the driver had been drinking.
Deputies completed field sobriety tests and a PBT which yielded a result of .340 BAC, more than four times the legal limit of .08 BAC for anyone age 21 or over. Michigan has a high-BAC law with enhanced penalties for anyone caught driving with a BAC of .17 or higher.
The driver was taken to a local hospital for a blood draw then to the Oakland County Jail. Criminal charges are pending the lab results.

Woman cited for speeding, not having a license with her
An Orion Township woman was stopped for speeding at 11:59 a.m. Nov. 25 on Atwater Street and Newton Drive.
The woman, 36, did not have a driver’s license. She was given a misdemeanor and civil infraction summons to the 52-3 District Court for speeding and not having a driver’s license in her possession.

Oxford customer arrested on misdemeanor warrant
Lake Orion police responded to a local business on S. Broadway Street after getting a complaint of a customer causing trouble, a police report stated.
After investigating, the police officer on scene discovered that the customer, a 33-year-old Oxford woman, had a misdemeanor warrant out of Oakland County.
The woman was given a court appearance date.

Lake Orion police identify hit-and-run driver
Lake Orion police identified a suspect in a hit and run traffic crash that happened at 9:45 a.m. Nov. 26 at S. Broadway and Atwater streets.
Two vehicles, a Chevrolet Equinox and a Kia, were involved in a side-swipe accident. The driver of the Kia left the scene of the accident without identifying themselves.
Police were able to identify the driver, an 18-year-old Orion Township resident, who was given a misdemeanor summons to appear in the 52-3 District Court for failing to identify themselves at a property damage accident.
There were no injuries reported in the crash.

Deputies take local employee to hospital for evaluation
Deputies went to the 900 block of Brown Road at 2:42 p.m. Nov. 18 regarding an employee at a local business causing a disturbance.
An investigation revealed that the 40-year-old Holly resident suffered from drug addiction and was requesting to go to the hospital for help.
Deputies transported the employee to St. Joseph Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Deputies seek warrant on Orion Twp. man for domestic assault
An Orion Township man could be facing an arrest warrant after allegedly assaulting his wife.
Sheriff’s deputies went to the 100 block of Sparrow Hill around 10 a.m. Nov. 19 for a domestic assault report after a 23-year-old Orion Township reported she was assaulted by her 31-year-old husband.
The woman said she woke up and got into a verbal argument with her husband. The argument became physical when the suspect “body checked” the victim with his shoulder multiple times.
The woman told deputies she was carrying two toddler children at the time of the incident.
The husband fled the home before the deputies arrived.
Deputies interviewed the victim and watched video of the incident. They contacted the husband on the telephone but he refused to meet with police or give a statement.
Based on the statements provided and video evidence deputies are requesting a warrant through the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for the suspect’s arrest.
The Orion Township Fire Department was called to the scene for any possible injuries to the victims, the incident report stated.

Window shopping from construction site
A builder contacted authorities on Nov. 19 to report that he was building a home on the 2400 block of Judah Road and the windows that were to be installed were stolen from the site.
The builder said he left the house around 5 p.m. Nov. 18 but when he returned to the construction site around 11 a.m. the next day, he noticed a broken window and it appeared as if someone tried to rip the window out.
The builder said he looked around and noticed that four windows in the basement that were installed were gone.
A kerosene can was also taken. This incident is under investigation.

Man cited for shoving employee at restaurant
A Rochester man has a court date after pushing an employee at a local restaurant.
Deputies responded to Opa’s, 600 S. Lapeer Rd., at 1:11 a.m. Nov. 20 for a disorderly person report.
A 26-year-old employee said that he saw a man and woman go into a bathroom together, and when they did not come out, he went to the door and knocked.
When he did not get a response, he knocked louder and suddenly the door opened and he was confronted by the man, a 46-year-old Rochester resident.
The man started yelling at the employee then pushed him. The man continued to scream until both the man and woman were escorted from the establishment.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect and, based on the statements provided and video evidence, they issued a disorderly citation to the suspect.
He was released at the scene with a pending court date.
