The Lights on the Lake Christmas light show is back, providing holiday cheer while supporting The Daisy Project – Michigan.
Lindsey and Rob Gawthrop started the musical light show four years ago.
“Yes, we are still partnered with The Daisy project,” Lindsey said. “We have a collection ‘North Pole Post’ box at the show to collect donations, of which 100 percent goes directly to the Daisy Project and the addition of the concession stand at the Miracle League Field (at Friendship Park). We will be matching up to $500 in donations.”
The show runs nightly, 5:30-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5.30-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
“We have four separate shows running this year, all are about 15 minutes long. Adding a few songs more this season,” Lindsey-Anne said.
Anyone who visits the light show – 439 Shady Oaks, off Heights Road – should tune their car radio to 91.3 FM for the musical part of the program.
The ideal for the show began when Lindsey took her daughter, Lake, to Friendship Park and saw the Inclusive Whirl, a merry-go-round for children with special needs, and decided to pair the light show with a fundraiser.
The Daisy Project’s mission is to help families with special needs children obtain medical and recreational equipment that is not otherwise covered by insurance.
The group also runs the LO Palooza fundraiser and has contributed to the development of the Miracle League Field.
