During the Aug. 13 meeting, the Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors approved the listing of two DDA positions; Administrative Coordinator and Events Coordinator.
Both positions will be an average of 20 hours a week and will be listed at $14/hour, said Executive Director Molly LaLone.
Recently, Pam Belding resigned from her position as DDA Administrator. Her last day was Aug. 13 and the DDA has been short-handed since.
Belding began working with the Lake Orion DDA in 2017. She ran the office, handled events such as the Flower Fair, worked on the DDA website and social media profiles.
“Pam has been a tireless advocate and public promotions speaker the entire time she has been working for Downtown Lake Orion. No words can express how much her effervescence will be missed here,” said LaLone.
Belding plans to spend her newly-acquired free time working on, and publishing, her book, The Fortify & Protect Yourself Guidebook, said Belding.
“Without a doubt, I’ll miss working with all of the people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, including the DDA Board and volunteers, the village staff, downtown businesses and organizations as well as all the folks of Main Street Oakland County,” said Belding “It’s been my deepest honor to have met these truly generous, warm, wonderful people who love their community. My decision to resign was made knowing I’m leaving Lake Orion in their very capable hands.”
