What woman wouldn’t love to be pampered for a day?
In fact, there are very few who wouldn’t love the chance to receive a brand new look with some original and fresh style suggestions. And even fewer who wouldn’t love being surprised with their very own makeover.
Now, Oxford area women have the opportunity to get all this and more.
As a part of the Second Annual Women’s Expo, the Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a few women that would benefit from and enjoy their very own ‘Magical Makeover? ? and their asking area residents to help find them.
‘We were talking at a Women’s Expo committee meeting about what we could do that was different for this year,? explained Chris Hoard, Vice-President of the Chamber and an organizer for the Expo. ‘We started talking about how popular the show ‘Extreme Makeover? is and the idea just went from there.?
The Oxford Chamber is asking area residents to nominate deserving women who could use a little pampering. Perhaps someone out there knows someone who has had a challenging year, or someone who has recently fought illness, or someone who has been a stay-at-home mom for years and is preparing to go back into the workforce. The possibility for nominations is endless.
‘We’re hoping to provide an uplift for someone who needs one,? said Hoard. ‘We’re looking for women who are deserving of this, maybe someone who has battled cancer or is preparing for a big change in their life.?
‘We’d like to reach as many different types of women as possible for this,? she added.
‘Magical Makeover? organizers plan to select three to four women to receive some special pampering. Each makeover will be based on the needs of the woman, and not all women will receive all services. Some of the services being offered include hair, makeup teeth whitening, skin treatments and fashion consultation.
Just a few of the experts scheduled to participate include: Sabrina’s Salon (one session, one person); Dr. John Kahoury, DDS (one teeth whitening session); Oxford Laser Center (one laser or skin treatment); and Head To Toes Massage (one massage session).
Hoard added that organizers are still looking for more salons and experts interested in participating in a ‘Magical Makeover.?
‘We’re hoping to get as many businesses involved as possible,? she stated.?
For the special women, the ‘Magical Makeover? will end at the Women’s Expo on October 7 when their ‘unveiling? is held during a fashion show. Each woman will show off her new look by modeling an up-to-date fashion fitting her style.
‘All women deserve this type of treatment,? said Hoard, ‘we’re just very anxious to find that small group of women who really need the special treatment to give them that lift or encouragement. Everyone needs a moment where they’re pampered.?
