Troop 1892 helps make the holidays a treat for others

There’s something sweet about Junior Girl Scout Troop 1892.
The group, comprised of fifth graders from Paint Creek Elementary, spent their last month’s meetings packaging a variety of donated candy into sandwich-sized baggies. The candy, donated by families at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church after Halloween, will be distributed to needy families during the holiday season.
Approximately 500 bags of candy were created, and will help provide a special holiday treat to the needy children in the area.
The project is a community service project through Oxford/Orion FISH, and this is the third time Troop 1892 has assembled candy bags.
