Teen assaulted in M-24 road rage incident

The Lake Orion Police Department is searching for whoever assaulted a 16-year-old boy at the intersection of M-24 and Flint Street on Sunday evening, after a traffic altercation.
According to LO Police Chief Jerry Narsh, the incident occurred between 9:30-10 p.m. on Aug. 20. The victim’s vehicle was traveling northbound on M-24, with two 16-year-old boys inside.
There was an altercation in traffic after someone was cut off, and the victim admitted to police that he ‘flipped the bird? at the other driver.
‘There was a right-of-way issue,? Narsh said. ? At the stoplight at Flint Street, a white male, with blonde hair and a yellow shirt, got out of the other vehicle.?
Narsh said three female teens were also riding in that vehicle, and the driver was a girl with a red and white hat.
‘The man opened the passenger door of the victim’s car, and punched him repeatedly in the face,? Narsh said. ‘The victim is now hospitalized with facial injuries.?
Other drivers were blowing their horns, Narsh believes, to try and stop the assault.
‘Someone had to have seen this take place,? he said. ‘If anyone was at that intersection at that time, and saw anything, we ask them to contact us.
‘This is a classic example of the worst end of the road rage scale,? Narsh added.
The responsible’s vehicle is described as early 1990’s, possibly a GM model.
