Swimmers still struggling in OAA white division

The Oakland Activities Association White division got the best of the Wildcats again as they lost 109.5-76.5 to Rochester Oct. 13.
Individual results are as follows:
200 Medley Relay – Oxford’s A relay of freshmen Sydney Liverance, sophomore Elizabeth Wilkins, sophomore Rose FitzCrane and junior captain Miranda Murphy finished second with a time of 2:14.73.
200 Freestyle – Freshmen Taylor Curtis finished second for the Wildcats with a time of 2:05.56. Senior Amanda delaPaz finished fourth for Oxford.
200 Individual Medley – Liverance came in fourth with a time of 2:40.62 and Wilkins rounded out the top five.
50 Freestyle – Sophomore Haley Kornburger finished first with a time of 25.04, while freshman Abbie Fredericks and senior Claire Patrell finished third and fourth respectively.
Diving – Sophomore Elise Ormiston placed fourth with a point total of 114.60. Junior Megan Anderson was fifth.
100 Butterfly – Kornburger won the event in a time of 59.20. FitzCrane finished fourth while junior Sammi Kurk tied a girl from Rochester for fifth.
100 Freestyle – Curtis won the event for Oxford with a time of 57.92. delaPaz was third for the Wildcats.
500 Freestyle – Sophomore Kaitlyn Barber established a personal best time of 6:42.00 with her fourth place finish. Sophomore Melissa Skelton was fifth for Oxford.
200 Freestyle Relay – The Wildcat A relay of Curtis, delaPaz, Patrell and Kornburger went on to win the event, posting a time of 1:47.43.
100 Backstroke – Liverance finished second with a time of 1:14.45. Junior Caitlyn Wroblewski and freshmen Allison Miller were third and fifth respectively.
100 Breaststroke – Wilkins finished fourth with a time of 1:21.99 while sophomore Maryann Stockard was fifth for the Wildcats.
400 Freestyle Relay – Oxford’s A relay of Curtis, delaPaz, Patrell and Kornburger won the event with a time of 3:56.05. The Wildcat B relay of Murphy, Barber, FitzCrane and Fredericks was third.
With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 1-5 in OAA white division play.
The girls finish up their season on Thursday, Oct. 20 at West Bloomfield.
