Swatosh, Morris move on to wrestling state finals

LAPEER — Hunter Swatosh and Landon Morris are moving on to the MHSAA Division 1 Individual Wrestling State Finals after qualifying at the regional tournament at Lapeer High School last Saturday.
Morris finished in third place in the 285-pound weight class and Swatosh finished in fourth place in the 126 weight clas.
Morris (20-5) went 3-1 for the day with wins over Swartz Creek’s Austin Luther, 5-1; a fall over West Bloomfield’s Alexander Walton, 2:35; and a 2-1 overtime win over Lapeer’s Jase Fuller, who he lost to in the first round.
Swatosh (27-15) went 2-2 with wins over Midland’s Dylon Anderson, 5-3; and Oxford’s Chase Beall, 6-4.
The MHSAA Division 1 Individual Wrestling State Finals will be at Ford Field in Detroit, March 1-2.
