GOODRICH-Members of the Silver Fox Folks recently ate lunch at Cranberries Cafe’ on Tuesday, March 18 and reminisced about life in Goodrich in addition to memories of past times.
The luncheon was followed by a visit to the Goodrich/Atlas Historical Society building to continue sharing knowledge about the area. The building was previously the Ladies Library Museum and closed in 1980. However, it was then renovated by the Historical Society and is now called the Goodrich Ladies Library Museum or the Atlas/Goodrich Historical Society. The museum has a unique display of uniforms from past wars, photos, school books, and scrapbooks.
Society member Jeanette Pierson, gave a brief presentation about the contents in the museum and who donated them.
“Various people have given us items that have really helped piece together the past,” said Pierson.
“One thing we want people to do when they donate items to us is to date them. We have great artifacts, but no names or dates. It really makes a difference.”
The next event for the group is on Tuesday, April 15 for the annual spring luncheon at Atlas Valley Country Club.
The museum is open from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on the second and fourth Saturdays from April-December.
