Cars filled parking lots and roads all around Clarkston High School Friday night, as students, alumni, family, and friends gathered to watch a Homecoming queen get crowned, and the Wolves gridiron heroes defeat another opponent.
The Homecoming Court included: Queen Autumn Touchstone; Homecoming King Sean Goebel; Senior Princesses Ashley Ann Taylor and Amanda Bartonbaker; Senior Princes Alex Orr and Billy Thompson; Junior Maid Mickayla Meola and Escort Doug Zasacky; and Sophomore Maid Taylor Gerber and Escort Andrew Singles.
‘I’m really honored,? Goebel said. ‘I used to be a shy kid, but in middle school, I decided to go outside of the box ? this is proof that noce guys don’t always finish last.?
‘This is great,? Touchstone said. ‘I’m really shocked.?
Plans as homecoming queen mostly include going to the dance and having fun, she said.
‘And keep being myself ? that’s what people seem to like,? she said. ‘And being a good representative for the school.?
Plenty of entertainment filled halftime at Friday’s Homecoming football game.
Pom and dance teams demonstrated their technical and entertainment skills. The Clarkston High School marching band performed their show as custom cars rounded the track, with Homecoming Court members on board.
The Wolves football game was just one of Homecoming’s activities. The Powderpuff game’s score was 12-8, with the juniors winning for the first time in seven years. Battle Of The Bands Winner was a junior class band called Farewell July.
Homecoming was put on by the CHS LEAD Program. The 49 students of LEAD worked from May-October to plan events and the dance.
