During their meeting on Jan. 21, the Paint Creek Trailways Commission honored former trail manager Kristen Myers.
Myers was employed by the commission in 2000 where she was Trail Administrative Assistant until 2003 before becoming Trail Manager. She held the position for 15-years before stepping down in Oct. 2018.
During her time with the PCTC, she was instrumental in the development and advancement of the trail, as well as the commission’s outreach.
Myers also produced and implemented two Trailways Commission Master Plans that enhanced grant applications, funding and project management, ultimately raising more than $750,000.
“I had the pleasure serving on the Commission with Kristen, being on the hiring committee when Kristen was hired as manager of the Paint Creek Trail and being the chairman of the commission for much of the time she served as trail manager,” said Rock Blanchard, Paint Creek Trailways Commission chairman, in a press release. “She is an extremely dedicated professional and the Paint Creek Trail and the communities it serves were fortunate to have her.”
The commission presented Myers with a resolution and a display box featuring a commemorative pewter Paint Creek Trail spike.
