Ortonville DDA awards local business and citizens

Ortonville- Two volunteers, a local business and the Old Mill were recently recognized with special awards by the Downtown Development Authority.
‘The people we recognized this year are representative of all the great volunteers we have working for the Main Street program,? said DDA Executive Director and Main Street Manager Molly LaLone. ‘All of our volunteers work very hard and are enthusiastic. They make Ortonville great.?
Don and Connie Stalker, were given the ‘Volunteer of the Year Award.? The couple has run Creekfest for the past few years and have done a tremendous job, LaLone said.
T&C Federal Credit Union received ‘Business of the Year? for their support of DDA events, including $5,000 in donations and in-kind services.
And the Ortonville Community Historical Society accepted the ‘Top Design Project? award for renovations done to the Old Mill.
The Ortonville Main Street program was also recognized for most successful, revamped event for the Beets, Beats & Eats event, which combines local vendors, musicians and a dinner for the community, held on Friday nights during the summer.
Awards were presented on Nov. 6 at Lyon Oaks during ‘Main Event IV,? an annual gala hosted by Main Street Oakland County.
Della Kozloff accepted the award for T&C Federal Credit Union and Dean Salley represented the Ortonville Community Historical Society in accepting the top design project award for the Old Mill.
