On Saturday, Dec. 8, the Orion Sports Bar will host a benefit in honor of three Lake Orion veterans.
According to manager LeaLani Preseau, all proceeds from the day’s event will benefit the Honor Flight, a nonprofit organization that takes veterans to Washington, D.C. to see their names at the various memorials.
Lake Orion’s James Culverhouse, Ralph Banwarth and Theodore Cizio were all able to visit their memorials in D.C., and the event at Orion Sports Bar is a way to thank Honor Flight and give back to them so that other veterans may have the opportunity to go, Preseau said.
On Dec. 8, the Orion Sports Bar, through owners Robert and Matt Moore, will be hosting a variety of events to benefit the organization.
There will be a 50-50 raffle, as well as the raffling of some sports related items, such as hockey tickets and jerseys.
A color guard will be walking the veterans in at 4 p.m. when the event begins, and the Orion Sports Bar will be offering free food, as well as donating 10 percent of sales to the organization.
Later that evening, the bar will also be hosting karaoke, starting at 9 p.m.
