No Goodrich superintendent selected as of Monday

Goodrich – No decision has been made yet for either of the two final contenders for the Goodrich School District superintendent post.
The superintendent search was put into place by the Goodrich Board of Education when Kim Hart was put on administrative leave in July.
Out of a field of nine candidates at the Nov.12 special board meeting, the Goodrich Board of Education voted for Bently J. Laser, Superintendent, Littlefield Public Schools, Alanson, MI and Wayne S. Wright, Superintendent, Birch Run Area Schools, Linden, MI.
On Nov. 18, the public was invited to attend the second interview.
‘We are proceeding along just as we have planned,? said Board President Michael Tripp. ‘About 20 people stopped in to chat with the two candidates prior to their second interviews. We interviewed Mr. Laser for an hour and 15 minutes and Mr. Wright for an hour and five minutes.?
Questions at the second interview were fielded by the district board members and those in attendance.
‘It was a very tough interview for both of these candidates, the questions they asked were very difficult,? said Tripp.
At the regularly school board meeting set for 6 p.m., Nov. 26, Tripp said the board will determine which of the two candidates? districts they will visit.
‘The board could decide to visit both of the candidates? districts or they may decide to visit only one. They also have the option of not choosing either candidate’s district which would mean they are still undecided,? said Tripp.
