New coordinator named

Ortonville- The senior center has a new coordinator for only the second time in its existence.
Annette Beach, a full-time senior van driver for 17 years, was promoted to the position of Edna Burton Senior Center coordinator after a vote by the township board at their Feb. 6 meeting.
‘I’m excited to start some new programs,? said Beach, 47. ‘I’ll work closely with Martha (Tooley, senior center programmer) and do a lot of extra things with them and get them motivated. I love the seniors.?
The Brandon resident takes over the position from Wilma Merritt, who retires effective Feb. 15. Merritt was senior center coordinator for 29 years.
The board has also approved promoting Janet Wilson to part-time van driver at the senior center. Wilson, 47, is also a Brandon resident and has been a substitute van driver for close to four years.
An open house to say goodbye to Merritt and to welcome Beach will be 4-6 p.m., Feb. 15 at the senior center, 345 Ball St.
