Yolanda K. Neira, 71, of Denver, CO, and formerly of Oxford, MI, passed away on March 27, 2016. Born May 30, 1944 in Pontiac, MI, she is predeceased by her parents, Gus and Shirley (Heard) Perazzo.
Yolanda graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1962 and continued her schooling at Central Michigan University where she received a degree in secondary education. She would go on to spend her entire career at Lake Orion High School as an English teacher. Yolanda was highly respected and admired by both colleagues and students, many of whom kept in contact with her long after graduation. In addition to her passion for pedagogy, she also enjoyed traveling, reading, watching Jeopardy!, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Yolanda is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Nick; daughter, Angela (Adam) McKinley of Oxford, MI; son, Nick (Amy) Neira of Castle Pines, CO; and grandchildren, Alexa, Avery, Anna, Gavin, Garrett, Grant, and Asher. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert (Linda) Perazzo and EuGene Perazzo.
