I’m voting for Dana Mermell for Lake Orion School Board. When I first met Dana at the Orion Township Public Library I was a new mother, new to Lake Orion. I was immediately drawn to Dana’s vivacious personality. She graciously invited me to join a children’s playgroup with fellow new Lake Orion moms. It was exactly what I needed- connection to our community and Lake Orion parents. Our children have known each other since they were infants. They all ended up going to different Lake Orion Schools but what bonds us together is that we all want what is best for our children. Dana was that common thread that brought us together.
I believe at a time when the schools are in flux, Dana will be part of a common thread that knits the school community together. That common thread is our love for our children, our schools and the Lake Orion community. Dana is a Dragon through and through. She not only wants to see Lake Orion schools continue to thrive but to exceed expectations. She is extremely dedicated to the community.
Dana and her husband Josh worked hard to get the sinking fund passed. My husband is very analytical and wasn’t sure about the sinking fund. Dana and Josh were patient with him, answering his MANY questions. After logical, fact informed conversations with Dana and Josh, my husband was convinced it was the right thing to do.
I believe Dana will utilize that same approach when it comes to making decisions about Lake Orion Community Schools. She does her due diligence when it comes to researching topics and issues. She has a professional background, she’s a parent with young children, she doesn’t plan on leaving Lake Orion, she’s in it for the long haul. Vote for Dana Mermell on November 8th.
