Men’s cross country take third in league meet

The Dragon cross country team headed to Clintonwood Park to compete in the OAA Red league meet on Oct. 17.

Forty-six out of Lake Orion’s 64 runners ran their personal best during the meet.

Senior Andrew Nolan and sophomore Jacob Gleason earned All-league honors at the podium with their 2nd and 14th place finishes, respectively.

Rounding out the scoring for the varsity team were sophomores Clayton Kuiper and Will Houvener, who finished 18th and 19th, respectively, and freshman Jake Smith, who finished in 30th.

The JV Dragons scored a low 29 points to take first place in the meet.

Snagging the individual win was freshman Luke Peardon.

Also contributing to the JV Dragon win was junior Nicholas Laurent taking 3rd, freshman Horacio Lopez in 6th, sophomore Ronnie Leonard finishing 8th and junior Carson White in 11th.

As the season begins to wind down, the boys’ next meet will be against Algonac at Algonac High School on Oct. 26. — M.K.
