Main Street visit set for Sept. 13-15

Ortonville- Members of the community are invited to meet with consultants specializing in small towns and representatives from the Main Street program in a Main Street Resource Team visit Sept. 13-15 at the Old Town Hall, 486 Mill St.
The representatives and consultants will discuss ideas and provide in-depth advice on how the Ortonville Main Street program can accomplish first-year goals in revitalizing the downtown. A public reception from 7-8:30 p.m., Sept. 13 will feature workplan displays and individuals can volunteer for specific activities and meet with the national consultants and Downtown Development Authority Executive Director/Main Street Manager Julie Courtney.
On Sept. 14, public interview sessions will be at 1:30 p.m. for downtown property owners, 2:45 p.m. for dowtown merchants and 4 p.m. for major downtown stakeholders, including financial and cultural institutions, industry leaders and community groups. The four Main Street committees will also meet that day at the following times: Promotion, 9 a.m.; Organization, 10:45 a.m.; and Design and Economic Restructuring Committees at 6:30 p.m.
Additional public interview sessions will be available the morning of Sept. 15 and the resource team will present their observations and recommendations that evening from 7-8:30 p.m.
