The Lake Orion boys swimming and diving team finished fifth at the Division I state finals, held March 11 at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.
The Dragons finished with 133 points, as Ann Arbor Pioneer went on to win their third state title in four years.
Individual finishers for the Dragons included Pat Dodge, who took sixth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:43.84, and 13th in the 100 freestyle, with a time of 48.03.
Garrett Ruhland finished fifth in the 50 freestyle for the team, with a time of 21.74. He also took fifth in the 100 freestyle, swimming to a time of 47.14.
Lake Orion’s Dave Brown finished 11th in the 200 freestyle, with a time of 1:45.15. In the one meter diving competition, Dragon diver Brandon Figurski took second place, with a score of 401.65.
Ricky Forrest finished 16th for the Lake Orion team in the 500 freestyle, with a time of 4:57.41.
The 200 freestyle relay team, with a time of 1:26.60, finished second; and the Lake Orion 400 freestyle relay team, with a time of 3:12.82, finished in fourth place.
