The Lake Orion varsity baseball team defeated West Bloomfield, Clarkston, Royal Oak Kimball and Port Huron Northern, in a doubleheader, last week.
Against the Lakers on May 2, the Dragons won, 7-1, with Steve Garver going 2-for-4 with a homerun and three RBI. Kip Drewry was 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Lee Dickinson was the winning pitcher.
Against the Wolves on May 3, Lake Orion won again, 2-1, as Garver went 1-for-2 with a double. Joe Barnes scored the Dragons? winning run, as Josh Hughes threw seven strikeouts and gave up four hits, and zero earned runs.
On May 4, the Dragons took on Royal Oak Kimball, winning 6-5. Jon Krause had the victory in relief for Lake Orion, and Nick Dunstan was 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Bobby Clouse went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
Against Port Huron Northern on May 7, Lake Orion won the first game, 10-6, and went on to take the second, 3-0, making their record 15-5 in OAA I.
Dickinson struck out nine on the mound for the Dragons, allowing one earned run in six innings. He was 3-for-3 with a homerun on the offensive side, scoring four runs in the first game.
Ben Wright was 2-for-4 for the team with two RBI, while Greg Hall hit a homerun.
In the second game, Barnes was 3-for-4, with three RBI, while Clouse was 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Dickinson went 2-for-3 in the second game, with three runs.
