Students at Webber Elementary were given a real treat on Feb. 8th, literally.
As part of the school’s Grandparent or Special Person Day, students were allowed to eat lunch in the cafeteria with someone close to them.
In all, 175 students shared lunch with a grandparent or special person in an event that principal Sarah Manzo said was geared towards getting more people into the building.
‘Any day is a special day when you can be with your grandparents or another special person,? she said.
Manzo said there is an official Grandparents Day held in the fall, but the school was too busy to take advantage of that day.
The PTO was on hand to supply valet parking, and even had some pizza on hand for those that forgot to bring lunch.
The turnout was much bigger than Manzo expected, with each grade having the cafeteria to themselves for about half an hour.
