Lake Orion water polo defeats both Chelsea and Walled Lake high schools

The LOHS boys water polo team headed to Ann Arbor on Oct. 15, taking on the Chelsea High School Bulldogs.

The close game headed into a nerve-racking overtime in which the Dragons emerged victorious with a final score, 7-6.

Clarkston sophomore goalie Adam Ehrenberger manned the net, making 12 saves.

Lake Orion senior Ben Gregg led the defense with four steals. LO junior Dane Herrick and LO sophomore Noah Watt contributed with three steals each and Clarkston senior Ryan Ludwa and LO junior Michael Pavelich added two apiece.

On offense, goals were scored by Ludwa, Herrick, Pavelich and LO sophomores Jack Watt and Nick Kadulski, with overtime tip-ins from Herrick and Gregg to win the match.

On Friday, the boys snagged another win against Walled Lake, 7-6.

Back in the net for the Dragons was Ehrenberger, who had 10 saves throughout the game. On the defensive line, Ludwa had three steals, while LO senior J.P. Buckner had two steals.

Offensively, Herrick led in Dragon scoring with four goals. Ludwa, Brown and Pavelich each add one goal apiece.

The boys head to Birmingham Seaholm for the district playoffs on Oct. 25. — M.K.
