Lake Orion’s boys’ track team not only won the OAA Red Division title but they did so in a perfect manner.
The boys clinched the title last week with a convincing 88-40 win over Rochester. The victory concluded the dual track portion of the OAA season for the Dragons. They went undefeated.
In the meet against Rochester, Lajuan Broner won both the 100 and 200 meter sprints. Kevin Hansen won the 800 meter run and anchored the 1,600 meter relay. Jack Everts won the 1600 meter run and also was part of the winning 1,600 meter relay along with Matt Mulligan, Drew Giem and Hansen.
The winning 3200 meter relay team was Chase McBride, John Arnold, Nolan Maupin and Michael Jarvis.
Tyler Skibicki won both hurdle races. Justin Cathers won the shot put. Zach Diverno won the high jump and Daniel White captured the long jump.
On Saturday, the boys competed in the Algonac Muskrat Relays and took home second place.
The boys won the 400 meter relay with Dallas Cleary, Andrew Schoenjahn, Jacob Huffman and Broner taking the honors.
In the combined Cross Country Mile, Matthew Arenz took first. McBride was second and Ryan Mulcahy was sixth, which gave the Dragons enough points to take first place in the race.
