Lady Cats continue to struggle

The struggles continue for the Varsity Girls Basketball team after losing 45-42 in overtime to Lapeer West on Friday, Dec. 18.
The girls looked to have a 10 point leading heading into halftime, but West made a three pointer to end the first half, cutting the lead to 23-16. West then came out and started the second half on a 9-0 run.
The game went back and forth after that, and by the end of the fourth, the game was tied at 40. In overtime, Lapeer West completed the comeback, pulling out the victory.
In the game the Wildcats went 7-18 from the free throw line and committed 24 turnovers.
Allie Laidlaw led the team with 13 points.
‘As a team, we must get better with the ball offensively and cut down on our fouling over the break or we are going to continue to waste our excellent effort and defense,? said Head Coach Al Poynter.
The loss drops the girls 1-4 overall, 1-2 in the FML. The next game for the girls in Jan. 4, 2010 at Fenton.
