Bud Schaar (L.V. Schaar, Jr.) passed away on June 22, 2023, after a brave battle with Parkinson’s.
Bud was born in Lake Orion, MI on April 25, 1940, and for much of his life, he divided his time between Lake Orion and Sebewaing, MI.
In his early days, he traveled the country drag racing. Professionally, many knew him as a skilled excavator although with a twinkle in his eye, he often described his work as “playing in the sand” and “dozing for dollars.”
Bud was an avid outdoorsman. His best times were spent on Valley Island in Sebewaing and around Saginaw Bay where he would duck hunt with one of his faithful black Labs and fish for perch and walleye, welcoming anyone who wanted to join in the day’s adventures.
Bud is survived by his daughter Beth and son-in-law Jon, his grandchildren Alex and Jack, and the best group of friends anyone could ask for.
