The Oxford boys basketball team won a nail-biter last week in non-league action and then dropped a game to undefeated Rochester Adams.
The Wildcats edged Almont, 38-37, but fell to Adams, 71-44.
In the Almont game, Oxford ran to an 18-11 lead at halftime but had to hold on in the second half.
The Cats held a one-point lead late in the contest when an Almont player drove to the hoop but his shot rattled out and the Cats secured the rebound and win with only two seconds remaining.
‘It was exciting for our fans but a lot of work on our part and a lot of that had to do with their physical defense,? said Coach Paul Marfia.
‘It was a hard physical game that either had good defense or weak offense. We will get better.?
Against Adams, the Wildcats ran into a potent offense and were outscored in every quarter.
Connor Elzerman led Oxford with 17 points.
