The annual Clarkston Holiday Lights Parade hosted by Clarkston High School’s robotic team, Team RUSH comes to town Dec. 10.
‘Right now we’re working on our float that we’ll have at the parade,? said Team RUSH member Nicholas Lee. ‘Mr. and Mrs. Clause will be on our float this year.?
Team member Eric Schultz said they always try to ‘make each parade unique.?
‘Last year we tried to have each float create a moving part, there was a Boy Scout troop that had a rocket ship to fly around the moon,? he said.
‘We entered them into a competition to see who would win the most creative float.?
This year’s theme is ‘Neon Lights Moving the Holiday Lights.?
Following the parade there will be ‘Holiday Lights Night? in Depot Park where there will be a tree lighting ceremony, hot coca, holiday treats, and a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. The parade will start at 6 p.m.

Team RUSH member Troy Hughes said this year they wanted people involved in the parade rather than just sponsoring awards.
‘We really just want to break even this year, so we don’t have to pay into the parade and allow it to be an event for the community, where people can just come and enjoy the parade,? Hughes said. ‘We’re really excited about it.?
