The Varsity Wrestling team cruised right along on Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Romeo Team Duels, going 4-1 and finishing second.
They started off the day by disposing of Grand Blanc, 61-9 and before turning their attention on Wyandotte 72-7. In their third match of the day, they handily defeated Romeo 58-10 before losing to Richmond 31-28.
‘We fell short against Richmond. We had a couple of minor mistakes that could have gone either way,? said Head Coach Scott Couch.
The Wildcats quickly shook off the loss and dismantled Saginaw 78-3.
Couch thought that they had solid perforamances from Keegan Cantara at 103 lbs., Zac Miller at 135 lbs, Matt Frisch at 140 lbs and Ben Ralston at 145.
‘Overall, I think we wrestled really well,? said Couch.
The next chance for the boys to get on the mat is in the Oakland County Tournament, which will be held at Oxford Middle School on Dec. 18 and 19.
