Good samaritan helps boating accident victims

Orion Township and Marine Division deputies responded to reports of an overturned boat Sunday, May 3. Two subjects were in the water at around 4:45 that afternoon.
Deputies rescued the first victim, who was over 50 yards from shore. The second victim, was assisted by a concerned citizen who rushed into the water when she saw the two men struggling.
Marine Division deputies said there were no life jackets on board the overturned boat.
Both boaters were residents of Oakland Township and were transported to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital for observation.
