The Lake Orion varsity girls soccer team lost to Troy Athens, but came back to win against Bloomfield Hills Lahser later in the week.
Against Athens, Lake Orion lost, 5-2, on April 26.
Dragon scorers were Rachel Bemman and Elyse Kiefer.
On April 28, Lake Orion shut down Lahser, 2-0, with Margaret Verespie in the net. Holli Finneren and Bemman each scored a goal.
The team is 8-4 for the season, 1-4 in league contests.
‘Most of our league games end in one or two goals for or against in each contest,? said Lake Orion coach Ken Snage. ‘Against Adams, we lost 1-0, and Lindsay Luch was fantastic.
‘Against Athens, we lost 5-2, but the game was tied 2-2 at the half,? he said.
‘Lahser was the number one team in the league, and ranked in the state, but we beat them, 2-0.?
Jessica Boyle and Lauren Ottenhoff each had assists against Lahser.
‘My young players were fantastic,? Snage said.
‘My captains, Finneren, Boyle and Marick were brilliant. The strong play of my seniors influenced the outcome of this game.?
