Dragon cagers are 1-1 on the season after a lopsided loss to Clarkston on Friday

After a dominant performance against the Lutheran Northwest in the season opener, the Lake Orion boys’ varsity basketball team lost to the Wolves, 65-44, at Clarkston on Friday, Dec. 10.

Leading the way for the Dragons was senior captain Alden Ritt with 15 points; junior Nate Havrilla with six points; and junior Blake Liddell, who had four points, nine rebounds, and four steals.

The Dragons are 1-1 on the season and are on the road again for their next game, Tuesday, Dec. 14, vs. the Rochester Falcons after Lake Orion Review press time.

Lake Orion plays Troy Athens at 7 p.m. Friday at Lake Orion in a non-league matchup.

Lake Orion is in the Oakland Activities Association (OAA) White division, the second highest OAA division, along with Birmingham Groves, Stoney Creek, Troy and Bloomfield Hills.

Lake Orion vs. Lutheran Northwest

The Dragons won their season opener, 64-39, against Lutheran Northwest at home on Tuesday, Dec. 7.

A trio of seniors led the Dragons’ balanced offensive effort: captain Alden Ritt had 19 points and six rebounds; Malachi Grandberry scored 14 points and had five steals; and Jeffrey Perkowski had 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

Junior DJ Morrow contributed 10 points.
