Surrounded by the love of her family, Cynthia “Cindi” Danton passed away on Feb. 6, 2023 at the age of 75.
Cindi was born Nov. 3, 1947, in Birmingham, Michigan. She was a devoted wife to Stephen “Steve” whom she’d known since early elementary school; the two were married for 57 years and resided in Lake Orion, Michigan, a community they cherished.
She was a loving and nurturing mom and will be greatly missed by her son, Brad Danton (Jerrilann), and daughter, Sherri Danton, and a proud grandma to Hunter, Isabel, and Addison.
When her children were younger, Cindi volunteered at their schools, attended their games, and was active in the PTA. As her children grew older, she began working as an advertising executive at Dittrich Furs, a family affair as she worked with her husband, sister, brother-in-law, and often the families’ children. She retired after 28 years of dedicated work.
Cindi was creative and loved to draw and craft, sometimes offering these treasures to loved ones as gifts. Steve and Cindi lived abroad for two years and traveled extensively in their many years together. In recent years, they enjoyed annual trips to Florida.
Cindi enjoyed time spent with friends, her morning mocha, and afternoon car and golf cart rides with her husband, her dog always sitting on her lap.
But most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren, always supporting and cheering them on no matter their pursuit.
Cindi was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Anne Montgomery, and is survived by her brother, Larry Montgomery (Roberta), sister, Karen Dittrich (the late Harold), and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. followed by a service in her honor at 1 p.m. at Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E Silverbell Rd., Orion Twp.
In gratitude for an organ donation Cindi received in her life, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Life Banc (www.lifebanc.org) or Cleveland Clinic/Lung Transplant (give.ccf.org Donation to Support: Lung Transplant).
