Cuddly friends visit with students at Waldon

Kim Korona, of the Michigan Humane Society, gave a presentation to Waldon Middle School students last week highlighting the importance of properly taking care of a pet.
Counselor Barb Hoffman belongs to a rescue group and took the initiative to plan the presentation that was open to sixth to eighth graders.
‘I think kids should start at a young level so they better know how to take care of their animals,? she said.
Hoffman is hoping to continue these sorts of presentations, while the students are interested too. A representative from the Detroit Zoo is the next planned speaker. She would like to line-up a veterinarian and others that can speak towards proper animal care. And if you can bring along cuddly friends like kittens Fancy, Sin and Hobbs, all the better.
If you are interested in speaking to the group, Hoffman asks you to please contact her at (248)391-1100.
