Company donates to veteran’s memorial

The Orion Veterans Memorial is getting a facelift thanks to a local masonry company.
Lake Orion’s KBH Masonry donated labor to install a granite facade at the memorial which will feature a male and female soldier with a dove, the symbol of peace, fluttering between them.
Orion resident Ken Hickman, the company’s owner, said his father was a Vietnam veteran and his girlfriend, Shannon Ellis, recently finished up boot camp.
‘It’s the least I could do,? Hickman said.
He estimated the labor donated at about $3,000.
The folks at the memorial were thankful for all the volunteer work and materials.
‘Ken of KBH follows in the footsteps of so many great volunteers,? said Dr. Joe Mastromatteo, chairman of the memorial.
