Cats sack Troy 49-14

A 49-point outburst was just what the Oxford Wildcats needed on a blustery homecoming night last Friday.
The Wildcats rolled to a 49-14 victory over Troy for the team’s second win of the season. Things are not expected to go as easily this Friday when Oxford travels to West Bloomfield to meet the undefeated Lakers at 7 p.m.
Coach Bud Rowley was pleased with the team’s effort against Troy.
‘It was a great win for the seniors. You always want to win your homecoming game as a senior. Everyone got to play and we put 49 points on the board.?
The Wildcats wasted little time in dispatching winless Troy.
They scored at the 6:08 mark of the first quarter on a six yard run by Wyatt Harden. Three minutes later Ethan Williams scored on a 23-yard run. Following the second of his seven conversion kicks on the evening, the Cats led 14-0 after one quarter.

Williams scored on another 40-yard TD in the fourth quarter and ended the night with 200 yards rushing on 14 carries. Conklin had 81 yards rushing on six carries.
Troy got its touchdowns late in the third quarter and in the fourth quarter as Oxford substituted players freely.
