Car wash for troops successful despite rainy Sunday

Rainy weather held off long enough for American Legion Post 63 Auxiliary to make $1,000 in donations, at their Sunday morning car wash for the troops.
“We did good ? we had so much fun,” said Bonnie Parker, legion auxiliary. “We appreciate everybody’s donations.”
Bill Wint offered use of his parking lot at Wint & Sons Funeral Home on Main Street, and about 30 friends, family and other volunteers helped out, Aug. 10.
“Bill Wint was out there at 7:30 in the morning until 1:30 ? he dedicated his time and his building,” Parker said. “Mark Petterson was there, and the guys in the legion came out to support us.”
Proceeds will be used to throw a Christmas party for children of veterans and troops overseas, she said.
