Brandon Schools superintendent evaluation set for May 31

Brandon Twp.- The school board expects to present Superintendent Lorrie McMahon with her annual performance evaluation during a special board meeting set for 6:30 p.m., May 31 at the I-TEC Center, 609 S. Ortonville Road.
Board President Kevin McClellan said the seven board members have each turned in their individual evaluations of McMahon, rating her on a scale of 1 to 5 in different areas. Those ratings will be weighted overall and combined for one evaluation. A comment section is separate.
‘The board has to come to a consensus,? said McClellan of the reason for the delay in the release of the evaluation.
McMahon was hired as superintendent of the district in August 2008 after Tom Miller resigned to take a position as a principal in Arizona. She had previously served as the district’s curriculum director for a year.
Upon each approved evaluation, McMahon’s three-year contract has been extended. Her current contract ends in June 2014.
