The Oxford Varsity boys bowling team was defeated by Waterford Mott 5-25 this past Sunday in Waterford at round one of the year-end tournament.
Highlights of the match went to junior Steven Lafnear for his 209 game and junior James Roberts? 180 games. They’ll take on Walled Lake Western in round two.
The girls also found their bowling very tough on Sunday, bowling against number one seeded Walled Lake Central. The only two points the girls were able to muster were from sophomore Sarah Decker. They lost 2-28.
On Jan. 27, the boy’s team defeated Clarkston 21-9. High scores were provided by senior Ben Griggs? 217 game, senior Trent Heichel’s 202 game, and sophomore Mike Magyar’s two match play points.
The girls fell to Clarkston 11-19, with highlights from junior Dayna Rein and Decker.
The boys finished their regular season 3-4 and the girls finished theirs 0-7.
Round two of the year-end tournament will take place on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1:30 p.m. at Wonderland Lanes in Walled Lake.
