The annual Halloween Parade in downtown Lake Orion features the best little princesses and wizards, monsters and ninjas.
But to help with the treating, the Lake Orion Downtown Development Authority, which coordinates the activities, is asking for candy donations to distribute to downtown businesses.
The DDA is suggesting that each participating business plan to hand out 1,000 pieces of candy during the parade.
Anyone who would like to donate can drop off candy to the DDA office, 118 N. Broadway, or Village Hall, 21 E. Church St., during businesses hours Monday-Friday. After 5 p.m. or on weekends, candy donations can be dropped off at Ed’s Broadway Gift & Costume, 2 S. Broadway St.
The lineup for the Halloween Parade begins at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Lapeer & Elizabeth Streets, across from the Ehman Center.
The Parade, led by Orion Township Public Library’s Bookbike, will travel east on Elizabeth Street and then head South on Anderson all the way down to the Children’s Park where donuts and cider will be waiting in the gazebo, while supplies last.
From Children’s Park, families are welcome to head north up Broadway Street and trick-or-treat at participating businesses through downtown Lake Orion. – J.N.
