The rain couldn’t keep car enthusiasts away from SCAMP’s Concours in the Park fund raiser on July 27.
‘This is the most fun you can have without a swimsuit on,? said George Farley, who brought the 1926 Ford T Roadster he finished building just this year.
Laura Respecki of Waterford Hills Road Racing was enthusiastic despite the occasional sprinkles.
‘Racers love it,? she said.
Waterford Hills Racing helped organize the event, and volunteers from SCAMP and MRM, a digital advertising company, served up Clarkston Union Mac-n-cheese and Cook’s Dairy Farm ice cream.
‘Car events are close to our heart,? said MRM’s Deb Dworkin.
From classic to modern to work, leisure, and racing vehicles, there were a variety of motors displayed offering visitors to Concours in the Park a cruise through automotive history.
Ryleigh Linseman, a member of the SCAMP staff, favored an electric blue Mustang, and she couldn’t wait for the five-week summer camp for special needs children to begin.
‘Registration was better than it’s ever been,? said SCAMP’s Donna Clancy who was very pleased with the fundraiser.
