Goodrich Robotics team competes

GOODRICH-The Goodrich Robotics team recently attended the Great Lakes regional quarterfinals in Ypsilanti on Saturday, March 22.
The founder of the first robotics team, Dean Kamin, announced the challenge in early January 2003 and the team had six weeks to design and build the robot.
This year’s challenge was “stack attack,” with the object of the course being for teams to knock down and gather as many crates as possible in an alloted time.
These competitions are designed for students to learn engineering and its various attributes through hands on activities.
“It was a great event. There were more cars in that parking lot than at most football games. The students built an amazing machine,” said, Kenneth Andrzejewski, Goodrich High School principal.
“This group of students are very talented and displayed teamwork with the other competitors,” said Andrzejewski. “This is a great program and unlike any event that you go to.”
