The Varsity Girls Golf team closed out the Flint Metro League by winning two out of their final three games and finishing eighth in the FML tournament on Monday, Oct 5.
Junior Emilie DeFrain led the Wildcats in the FML Tournament with her score of 108. ‘It was a difficult course,? said Golf Head Coach Terry Kelley. ‘The scores were high for all teams across the board.?
As a team, the Wildcats shot a 459, finishing well behind champion Lapeer West.
The girls were able to defeat Flint Carman-Ainsworth on Thursday, Oct 1 by a score of 212-250. Sophomore Hannah Beebe was the low scorer for the Wildcats with a 52.
The victory came on the heels of a seven stroke loss to Linden, who finished second in the division, losing 194-201 on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Senior Anna Tomaka kept it close with her team leading 45.

Oxford earned it’s last victory in the FML by defeating Holly 214-233 on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Senior Taylor Holtshouser and Tomaka each shot a 52 to led the Wildcats to victory.
