Super cruise, super success

For classic car lovers, downtown Oxford was the place to be on Tuesday, Sept. 15 as the Septemberfest Super Cruise took over E. Burdick St.
A total of 311 classic cars on display for the delight of car owners and on-lookers. A smattering of rain tried to dampen the mood , but it quickly passed. Once the cars dried off, the atmosphere kicked back into high gear.
Four trophies were handed out at the end of the night. First place went to Bill ‘Doc? Stanley, of Rochester, and his 1958 Skyliner. Second place went to Ron Wilson, of Royal Oak, and his 1956 turquoise and white Nomad.
Clarkston resident Walt Stonehouse’s 1939 Ford took home the third place trophy, and fourth place went to Ortonville’s Ray Toth’s 1970 Red GTO.
Proceeds from the event, which generated more than $600, benefitted the Make-A-Wish foundation.
