Citizens meet to discuss good books

GOODRICH-On the second Tuesday of every month, one can see the lights go on in the second floor of the Goodrich Library on Hegel Road downtown.
The reason is the monthly meeting of the Goodrich Book Discussion Group.
Each month, a 10-person group reads a new book and discusses it. February’s book was “A Gesture Life” by Chang-Rae Lee.
The group started about three years ago and said they always have open arms for anyone new.
The discussion typically lasts about an hour and each person brings snacks and refreshments to enjoy while they chat.
The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 11. At that meeting, the group will discuss “The Dive from Clausen’s Pier” by Ann Packer.
The Goodrich librarian has many available copies and is more than happy to lend them out.
Barbara Fertuson of Goodrich said, “It doesn’t matter when you read, just as long as you’re reading.”
